Default Heater takes for ever to warm up. Maybe thermostat?

So my car takes for ever to warm up the air in the heater and when it does it's not even that hot more like warm. I have triple checked the idrive. So decided to check the coolant temp through the hidden menu. Left work at 7:30 this morning and it's like 30* outdid right now. So after 10 miles if driving home the car was only like 55*c and after letting it idle for about 10 min in my drive way it got up to about 70*c. Is this normal? Could my thermostat be stuck open? I have a 2004 525i with the 2.5 m54 engine and 6 speed auto. Thanks.
