Headlight Question

Hi beam and low beam are on the outside of the 4 headlights. What is the function of the inner 2 lights? I noticed that they come on briefly when the turn signal is activated. Anything else?

They also come on when you turn the steering wheel.

I also noticed they were on when backing out the garage.
