With a factory replacement, you will have no concerns. Sometimes these things happen. If some part fails and you lose coolant, you will overheat and can warp the head. After all, it is aluminum. Will they put in a replacement head or resurface yours and put in a thicker gasket to compensate for the shaved head?
I would insist they install a completely new head.

i believe they are replacing it, but I know they are replacing the hydrolic lifters and whatever else needs to be raplced.
