Yay! Hope the problem gets fixed without any hassle as BMW stealerships are well-known for.

I have an 06 (11/05) build and the dealer took care of it. Just call and ask if it was ever done to your car. Mine had the recall campaign still open in the computer so they fixed it for free. Part of the recall is also that those parts covered are warranteed for 10 years. It is a safety concern after all.

Mine is at the dealer right now for that same error. They are saying it is the IBS. I did a couple quick searches and the IBS has been related to the Passenger Restraint system fault.

They are replacing it now... I will hold my breath for a while that this corrects the problem and it isn't something else ALSO...

Good luck with yours.

John

John, make sure you check all of your seat's functions when you get your car back. Mine was replaced as well and now the seat won't move up or down... they tell me it's a coincidence and it's my fault and that they can replace it for $400!

All that lowering of your car with the new coilovers much have tripped the sensor.

Well, I don't know how you guys are managing to get it fixed OUT of warranty because I can't find any class action lawsuit "proof" to bring to the dealership. A thread on 5series.net is not going to cut it.
