Another question came up while I was at the dealership, there is a order code "ZIA" with description of Anthracite lining. Does anyone know what this is?
xBMWx, Is this what you are referring to?

I found it makes a big difference to how light the inside of the car feels, especially compared to the impact light or dark wood trim makes. If you are going to go for the option, and it does look good IMHO, check it out first of all with & without a sun-roof... better safe than sorry!

My car is carbon black with Black dakota leather and the Riegel Ahorn Anthrazit trim (and sunroof

And i just love it. Don't regret that i've not taken the aluminium trim. The anthrazit sometimes more look like the piano black trim

If you want more pics from different angles, just ask me and i can take som

I don't have interior pics, but anthracite and silver gray (with gray interior) go great together. But, so should black and anthracite. I looked at silver gray (gray interior)/maple and silver gray (gray interior)/anthracite side by side. Both looked great, but I liked silver gray (gray interior)/anthracite better. I would never have another black car, but they do look very good. And, I still have one; check my sig. Black is not a color; it's either a hobby or a part-time job if one wants it to look good even 1/4 of the time.

Wow! Thanks for all the input, Iceman316, Mullman, Aussiebimmer, Oyster, Xbmwx, Ats77, Nicolas_q, and Oaktree..
Based on your inputs, I conclude Anthracite goes well with Black interior and I think I will be very happy with it. It's hard to find cars in dealership with this combination (at least in 5 series).
Another question came up while I was at the dealership, there is a order code "ZIA" with description of Anthracite lining. Does anyone know what this is?
xBMWx, Is this what you are referring to?
Anyone has recommendation on dealership in Los Angeles area who is familiar with special order and ED?
Thanks a lot, guys...

Yeah, that's the one. The pillars and roof are all in anthracite - well, it's not far off black to be honest.
I found it makes a big difference to how light the inside of the car feels, especially compared to the impact light or dark wood trim makes. If you are going to go for the option, and it does look good IMHO, check it out first of all with & without a sun-roof... better safe than sorry!

525xi Automatic,
Do you mind posting some interior pictures too? You guys are more helpful than the local dealers - they asked me to use my imagination!

I rather go in with understanding of all options available so I don't get pressure into it.
Thanks, I might drop by tomorrow.

Thanks Znod for your input... It would be nice to see Gray interior with anthracite trim...
I totally agree with you on "Black is not a color" - I think it takes commitment to go with Black.
