WOW thats expensive for only 2 years extra! I can risk $3K for 2 years... well depends what the shape the car is in when year #4 is approaching...

For a car that cost about $46,000( not even spekaing of 545s over here and this is a 530i bare bottom), $3300 for 2 yrs is a bargain! I would jump @ that in a heart beat. If the midplane to my iMac G5 goes out I get charged $899 (I bout the computer for $1293) with no warranty. I mean do you see the huge advantage of the extended warranty BMW offers, I don't even want to imagine what anything on the car would cost with no warranty

See my post on needing a new alternator at 25,000 miles. It may be a bargain to buy an extended warranty. I'm definitely going to look into getting one at this point.

Ya I saw... but better make sure you find the right one... and not one that has more restrictions than what they cover.

We are all talking about an extended warranty to cover all the new hi-tech stuff. Please let's not forget the basics. Think of what a new cat. convertor or even worse, what a new tranny would cost on a 545ia. ( I am told over $12,000 for a new auto tranny) I don't want to roll the dice with those #s. The stakes are to high for me.
Had the extended warranty on my '97 528i. It was about $2,000 at that time.My cat.conv. went and that alone was almost $2,000 at that time plus some lesser problems. Made the ext. warranty a bargain, not to mention the peace of mind it gives you. If you OWN and not lease an E-60 and keep your cars for over 100,000 miles as I do, you really don't have a choice. GO FOR IT!
After 100,000 miles comes your next decision.
KEEP IT, OR SELL IT, but that's another story to be decided later.
