Thanks for your replies.

It is saphire black. Bought it off the lot.

Not sure why my profile is not showing up. I'll work on it.

Thanks Again!
Sorry to hear about your problem.I have a saphire black 545 and have had drivers door repainted, hood spot painted(compliments of a deer).I am very fussy about my cars but the work done by my dealer is absolutley undetectable. The body shop said that black is the easiest color to match and blend.I have looked at my paint in every possible light conditions and cannot see where the damage was repaired.

the thing you really want to know is this: get a life!! repainting will allways set you back!! stop moaning, live with it, it will get some scratches in the next months anyway.

never forget: IT'S ONLY A CAR, it will be gone in a couple of years and you will have an other....

(sorry, it's not personal, but I had to get this of my chest, following this forum the past couple of months)
denuyl, you should have taken your frustration out on someone else not rfdjr. His was not really a cry-baby thread...have you seen my thread?

Seriously, rfdjr is completely right...when you buy a new car you expect to get a new car...especially in this price range.

well, I (from my point of view) think you guys are a great help ("let the dealer deal with it.......")

It's a brand new car!! No excuse for it being like that. They should absolutely fix it for him. He shouldn't have to live with it.

Your comment is ridiculous. This fellow just spent 65K on a brand new 550i. He deserves to receive it in perfect condition from the dealer. There is a time for scratches or blemishes, but this ain't it!

I worked on this spot whith some good polishing and wax products and was able to get it fixed. I really wasn't tyring to be a whiner, just wanted to be as prepared as possible when I met with the dealer. By the way, I partially agree with denuyl in the sense that there are thousands of more important things than a car (O.K. maybe not thousands, but a few) . I do, however, think all consumers should demand high quality in the products and services they receive. If we all accept mediocrity, then manufacturers and service providers will happily comply. I think a good example of this is the American car industry. Although they continue to lose market share to foreign makers, they have been forced to improve their cars significantly since the 70's. Unfortunately they may have been a little too late in living up to consumers' expectations. Thanks again for your comments.

Sounds like an easy fix. Just make sure the shop clear coats the entire panel. You'll never know it was there.

Hahah, I agree. My wife says the same thing. She one day scratched her Coach bag and I said "IT's JUST A BAG"
