question for everyone... when you change to different brand tires does the tire pressure monitoring system still work? is the tpm device inside the wheel or what? i'm not sure how it works.

I put a set of Dunlop Direzza's on my 2005 545i, and I love them. They are also a freakin' bargain at a little over $100 per tire. As they are not run flats either, the ride and the handling has been really great. I've been through many tires, but have never quite found this mix of performance, looks and cost before, so there's my 2 cents!

Does anyone know of a good everyday tire for a 545i, I do not drive my car hard, and most of my driving is 50 miles each day to work. I am looking for a good quiet tire that will give me a good ride, but I do not want to spend $300+ per-tire. Any help would be great. Thanks
Non RFlats should keep the price down. The RF's on my car now ride a bit harsh anyway.
Michelin PS2 as most michelins are overpriced. I had them on an M3 and wasn't impressed over the original PS.
The Falken 452 and Generals seem to be a good value; many people on here have them.
my 2 cents.
