Golf GTI for a second car??????

My Ride: On Order, due in May - 2007MY 530D SE, Silver Grey, Black Dakota, Auto, Brushed aluminium shadowline,sports seats / wheel, hi fi speakers, mats, space saver wheel and a few more bits
I am needing to replace my second car (dare not tell you what it is - I don't drive it), and always fancied a new Golf GTI 2.0 T FSI 200 with DSG auto box (6.9 to 60 - my E60 is about 6.5 with re-map)
Any one had a drive of the VW?, will I be pleased to drive it or sad?
I can't find a local dealer with a DSG version to test.
Convertible or coupe not practical - my wife will mainly use it to ferry 2 sub 10 yr old kids about
4 year old M3?
E60 is staying for 3 more years

Hot dawg Ricracing-tell it like it is! I was howling when I saw your post!!!! We do not have the 130 in the US- but I think I agree-in fact what about the Twin Turbo in the 1 series-isn't that going to happen? Now there's a nice runabout!

What do you think a 130i would cost in the US?
A 525i costs, with very much better opitions, in the US $44k
and that is only about 33,5 k Euros.
Get your cars for almost free in the US...
