Am I missing something about what I will be able to find? The concensus is that I will only be able to find a 545i in my price range. Here's a few 550i (2005-2007) on autotrader.

Bjsbuds...it also helps to post where you are located on your profile, which I am sure you are in the USA. Look at it this way the newer model and lower miles you can get the better off you are due to the factory warranty and maintenance. Since youre already a BMW owner though I am sure you already knew that.

I would test drive both 535 and 550 and see which one you like better, but again I think for what you want 550i sport is the way to go.

Well, I was looking at 06 550s that were CPO'd and they were very hard to find, but if you can find one before the end of December you get your 1st two months payments free, plus.9% financing for 36 months, 2.9% for 48 months, or 3.9% for 60 months. ( I may be off a bit, but those should be very close to the CPO 2006 rates on a 5 series.)

I am not sure that the 2006 has the Mtech kit. I may be wrong though.

Anyhow, what I finally wanted to say is that in the end I bought a 2009 535i. More money than I wanted to spend, but oh well. My payments are the same as they were on my previous 3 series (the same amount that I was paying, that is), but with 4% less APR and it is Brand new, exactly to my specifications.

If you can afford it, give it a shot. If not, Try and try to search for a 2006 CPO 550i before the end of December. Those Incentives also apply to the 2005 545i as well.

You might also be happy with a 530i, I have never driven one, but I would assume it is pretty close to the 528i, and not much power.
