The GS450H is a more comparable car to a 545,550. But I know for a fact you wont like the lexus seats, i dont like ours , my 525 is much more comfortable. You wont have cabin fever in the 5 series either. But but but you'll have the BEST NAV, BLUETOOTH, ipod, TOUCH SCREEN GOODIES! If you can live with the seating on a GS430. Toyota's functions with the Mark levinson are second to none. The peppy 300hp V6 is nice, should get 19-24mpg always. Our GS450h is a technological stunner. Oh stay away from lexus black too hard to maintain, well unless you drove it in a bubble LOL
I test drove a GS430... yeah.. the ride is less sporty/agreesive compare with 545... the thing is.. I don't take it as it's the shortcoming on lexus.. it's just how the car is meant to be...

honestly.. I do like the interior of lexus... the touch screen is just awesome man...

my problem with GS is the look(exterior)... I still don't think that the jap has caught up with the germany on the exterior look wise.. the GS is beautiful interior..

just my two cents

I've been searching for a 545i to buy heavily the past 3 weeks and yeah it's a good deal. Especially good because it's certified pre-owned. I don't think you'd find the same car for cheaper than 30k if that's what you're asking.

check bmw usa website and do a search on cpo checklist, so you know exactly what it entails.
GL, get a white one.
Hey Guys I wanted to weigh in on this topic as I recently purchased a 2005 CPO 545i. If you are purchasing a 2005 then you will most likely have less than 1 year of the original warranty and maintenance program remaining. A 2004 will have no remaining warranty. The CPO warranty adds an additional 2 years of warranty coverage up to 100,000 total miles beyond the original BMW warranty. While the CPO warranty is fairly comprehensive and backed by BMW you should know that it does not cover entertainment electronics or navigation systems.

As to the question of additional maintenance program coverage this can purchased from BMW. I was able to purchase an additional 2 years of BMW maintenance for $1600. Note, that some dealers will attempt to up charge for the maintenance contract to make additional profit. One dealer quoted $2500 for the same 2-yr. maintenance service extension. Based on my discussions with BMW Service techs it is my understanding that the maintenance coverage is full maintenance coverage no different than the original maintenance coverage that came with the vehicle when new (i.e. brakes, rotors, oil changes, filters, inspections, wipers, etc) for 2 years time. I believe on a cost benefit basis, the cost of one BMW Dealer brake/rotor job alone will recoup most of the costs of the maintenance contract.

Lastly, as a new member to the board I wanted to say thank you for all of the great posts from the long time members. The board is a tremendous resource for new and prospective owners. Best of luck with your decision.

Should I be concern with the new 5 series which might be debut in late 2009 or early 2010? Is the new 5series really coming that early? mid 2010 is a more acceptable time.. i think

What y'all 5 owners think?

Talked to a sales person in BMW dealer.. and he told me that the new 5-series will be available in the second half of 2010 as a 2011 model.

Can anyone verify this?

I'd say do a 4 year lease on the GS or BMW that should put you at 2012 and 2 years into the new 5 series which should show its true colors meaning defects, quirks, recalls etc..Then you'll be able to pick up 08 or 09's for dirt cheap, or a 2010 2 year used
