After spending a bit of time scrolling through several pics of both US and UK members on this forum, would I be correct in assuming the Guys and Gals in the US are more adventurous when it comes to modifying their cars. Well Folks I think it is fair to say there is much debate and indeed humour on this subject. I guess what ever side of the fence or quite literally pond you sit on...it is all about taste.....to that end....we brits clearly have an abundance of it!!

Well im a mad modder, i cant help myself, ive not long sold my Supercharged S2000, i did a self install as well as other mods, it was running 350hp not bad for a lightweight sportcar!!!! anyhow, i will be modding as im not to fussed on insurance, i wont let them bring me down

Anyway , in the UK 90% of e60 owners will be companies. The e60 is more or less a reps car or an old man's car. That is the reason you don't see modded e60s. That's not the case with the 3 series though. Modding in the UK is quite popular as we all know.

I concur tho, most of the people I personally know with one of these cars are generally 45 - 55 upwards.
Guess I just appreciate how flexible the E60 is, both as a comfy cruiser for the family and sporty track capable fun machine.
If it wasn't for the family I would have bought another 3 series, just couldnt bear to live with the small back seat space and small boot space tho

I'm 32 , i'm just saying what people think. I personally prefer the 5s over the 3s for various reasons one being what you stated above about flexibility of the car. My boss is 38 and has a fiver as well.

I don't want to make a generalized statement, and only talk about my views on this....regarding my desire to mod my car, I view the modifications as an extension of myself and individuality. Take away the Freudian undertones, I like the challenge to making my car better than when I first got it, which in the case of the E60 BMW's, you don't need to do too much because the cars are already awesome. Those are my thoughts.
