Default Gears are Running Rough

I have a 2007 550i AT. My transmission pan has been recently replaced due to a leak. Ever since then, the gears have been changing roughly...especially when the engine is cold.
Was the mechanic suppose to reset something on the computer after touching the transmission pan? Other than this, do you know of any other solutions?

Reset the transmission and it should go away if you never had problems like that before.

1. Turn the ignition to position 2, light on the dash and accessories on but the engine is off.
2. Hold the accelerator all the way down for 25-30 seconds
3. Turn car on.

Actually to get it to reset properly you
1. Turn the key to position 2,
2. w/ foot off the brake turn it to start or push start.
3. Push gas pedal to the floor for 30 sec.
4. Then turn car off.
5. Then foot off the gas pedal.
6. Wait 2 min.
7. Start car and enjoy.
