Hi,

Found my 04 530D with a flat battery so got it charged and drove it about 5 miles, it then broke down with a fuel pump warning.

I checked the fuse and it had blown so i replaced it, it blew again instantly, i replaced it once more and again it blew instantly.

So i removed my fuel pump control unit (ekpm2) and opened it up and its all burnt out inside.

Can i just buy another EKPM2 from a breaker and fit it straight on or does it need to be "coded" for the car? I can get the part for under £100 but i know the dealer will be much much more.

I have a new car now but i need to get the 5 sorted so i can sell it.

Thanks
Shaun
