Default Fuel consumption shown on dash-board is wrong!

Hi guys, I noticed a strange thing: my cars dash-board shows that the car is consuming in average ~7,7 L Diesel per 100 km. But this is wrong!!! It is already half an year I am checking this every time I fully tank my car (which is actually every week, so more than 20 times). Knowing how much km I drove with the amount of diesel I tanked — gives me ~6,5 L per 100 km.

Is there a way to change the settings of the board-computer, re-calibrate it to get a value on dash-board, which is closer to the reality?

Thank you!

Short answer - no! The dash board shows an approximate consumption figure at best. Your "discrepancy" isn't really that bad. The dashboard average is probably about +/- 5% accurate anyway. I see about the same difference on my checks on consumption, albeit mine is a petrol V8. I wouldn't worry about it.
