Flat Tyre monitor

Hi guys,
When i stop and activate / reset my tyre monitor it takes forever to reset, so i just give it up as a bad joke...how long am i supposed to wait for the silly thing to initialize? should i get my sleeping bag out>

Hi, you've probably gathered from the other posts that you are missing an important step of the process. Let me guess, you are switching on your ignition/engine, hitting "reset", then walking away and waiting. I did the same thing just last week. Left it for 2 or 3 hours. Then realised that after hitting "reset", you are meant to drive the car Unhelpfully it just sits there and says "initializing". Would have been so easy for them to make it say "initializing, please drive car!!".

Reset and start driving... BMW says about 7 miles... but I think it resets before then.

I, too, believe it must be based on number of tire/wheel rotations. If I set it when I air up and drive 25-35 mph around town, it seems to take forever (probably only 10 minutes). If I do the same and jump on the highway going 65-70 mph, it seems to take only 3-5 minutes.
