ok i posted in another thread, that there was an obvious plastic sounding squeak in my drivers seat heard whenever the drivers body weight pressed against the backrest such as when pulling away, breaking, going round corners quickly......

anyway the noise is being caused by what I can only describe as an old fashioned plastic speaker grill looking plate screwed to the floor underneath the drivers seat. if i slightly press this grill i can reproduce the noise everytime. if i do same on passenger side, no noise, passenger side plastic grill thing is solid.

so i open it up to the forum, what is that thing under our seats ? ideas on a postcard to....

thx for the quick replies.

subwoofers ? so do all E60's have them ? my car is not fitted with the hifi upgrade pkg or Logic7, or are the cases just covering empty speaker recesses ?

thx for the info. so wonder why one casing is making this noise. job for the dealer to look at when my car goes in on 25th to have the xenons done.

If you have standard audio it shouldn't have subwoofers under the seat (I believe).

Standard audio has the subs we are missing the speakers in the rear doors and the one in the center of the dash.
