Ahh...who cares...unless the M5 owner is paying for my car I could give a rats anus how he feels. If you feel good about the badges keep 'em. Posing...so what it's not hurting anyone. People own rep watches, rep clothes, rep rims, rep diamonds, rep handbags. Reps permeate every aspect of our lives - You don't hear anyone worrying about disrepecting real diamond owners by buying a faux stone do you?

You have a rep car...it looks good...you like it...and maybe you get some more a$$ from gold diggers...I say more power to you. Don't let the haters get you down...you got a quality rep there.

Just my 2 cents

Doesn't being a member of this site suggest that you are probably an enthusiast? I don't see how being a poser can be reconciled with being an enthusiast Nobody here is "hating" on anyone. As a matter-of-fact, almost every post I read complimented the OP on his ride, except for the badge. That badge might "fool" or "impress" someone on a an Audi forum, just not gonna happen here. To the OP, be proud that you drive a beautiful 5 series instead of some other jalopy. What you DON'T have is a beautiful M!! The badge ruins it.

I'm sure he takes our reconciliation of his status as an enthusiast or not with a grain of salt - as well he should. IMO we should judge the car for what it is a M5 rep. That's all no more no less. If you don't like reps fine, but it is what it is a great looking well done M5 replica and replica cars are accepted in the automotive world if you advertise it as such.

An enthusiast would know that.

Exactly why there will be few here that support it The rest of the car looks fantastic.

Can you really get a new M5 for only $1,000 per month?

I thought it was more like $1350-$1500.
Yes you can. Check the M5board.com

Very nicely done, but of course the M5 badge doesn't belong there.

Two things I've thought of.

1. If it gets nicked and the insurance company find out how you put an M5 badge on, could their lawyers use that as a reason for not paying out. They might argue that you made the car look like more of an appealing target for thieves, making them think it's worth double what it's actually worth. If you told them you put a body kit on it, I doubt they'd mind, but telling them you rebadged it probably wouldn't go down well.

2. I reckon you'll get stopped in the UK for that number plate. It's not legal. I got done for having a much less illegally spaced one than that. You'd probably even get stopped in Germany because (a) it's not a legal layout here either, and (2) the Germans know what a legal british plate looks like (yes I got stopped in Germany too for my badly spaced one).

To bring it back up to a positive note though, it really does look great. As for the various street race scenarios, just avoid racing and everyone will think you didn't feel like racing. If they believe it's a real M5, they'd know they'd get thrashed

How's this for a compromise... lose the M5 badge, fit an M5 Trunk Finisher
+1 Car looks sweet aside from the badges.....gotta complete the "look" with the trunk finisher.

looks like a cheap mans M5 well as long it makes you happy... i have a friend that would do a fake mod to his car we gave him a nickname of 1$ cause every time we go out to a night club... he only has 1$ dollar in his pocket but he is the best dressed out of the group... he would dress up with fake Hugo Boss Suits but hes always broke LOL
