keeping the sound down , someone here on the forum dissabled this valve and created more engine sound with this

I dissabled the flap on my 330i, it gives the same throaty sound as a sports exhaust. Discnnect the vaccum pipe and plug the pipe with a golf tee. Then listen to the difference. Dont think it effected the performance but it sounded great.

Ok so it enhances the noise from the exhaust not from the engine?

golf tee? what's that?

A golf tee is what you put a golf ball on before the initial drive down the fairway or were you joking? I personally use one to launch balls into the hedge.

I've followed my own car at slow speed and seen the flap moving so I assume its purely a noise retarder.

Why don't BMW's come with golf tees I heard MB's do cause the car valeter asked what they were for and he was told for resting your balls om when driving! MB think of everything came the reply

Does anyone have done any modification like this? Any pics and DIY? I dont necessery need a complete exhaust set, but just the estetic.

Why don't you get someone to sell you just tips and have them installed (easy for any competent muffler shop)--e.g., B&B. Here are some pics.

Donv

This was really nice pipes (tips) - This is what I'm looking for. Are they original or have you changed the exhaust system? Can this be done with only changing or adding the tips?

Thanks much. My exhaust is a B&B. I imagine B&B would sell just the tips, but I am not sure. It would be easy for a decent muffler shop to exchange your tips for the B&B's or some other after-market set you like.
