Excessive exhause fumes

Hi - my 2004 530d seems to emit excessive exhaust fumes when I accellerate hard. The dealership last told me that it was leaves and even a small plastic bag in the engine intake, which had it sorted for a little while, but the problem is back now (probably because it is autumn ?) Does anyone else have any suggestions ?

I was getting exhaust fumes into the passenger cabin vis the a/c. turned out to be a cracked cat section. - bloody expensive to replace the cat section!
