Either the k_can is shorted/grounded (which in my experience causes the instrument cluster to light up like a x-mas tree along with ever error message that can be produced) or your ccc has some major issues. Try removing the negative side of the battery for 15 min. This should cause everything to reset.

Yep, it might work. It didn't work for me, I tried it, and I tried a new battery, neither helped. CCC was still dead, deceased, no more, kaput

I take back what I said then! After fooling with the k_can and doing several stupid things, while driving, I am amazed at how robust the CCC/mask/TCU/etc... are.

After the "reset" through the menu button I haven't had any problems with the i-drive and all functions work but it's been only one day. But another thing that i've noticed is that before when I get into the car and placed the key near the ignition the seat belt chime would activate (without even placing the key in the ignition or having the set belt on). Now I can put the key in and it will only chime when I turn the key!
I think there are some gremlins around or my battery may be going dead?

If it's the original battery, then yes, it can easily be the battery. If after you replace the battery you still have issues? Then you will be on the same road I am on, sorry, and good luck

I have had it lock up once - I drive was stuck in radio and did not turn off when the car was turned off. Thankfully it fixed itself.
