sprint booster? whats that... also, whats the whole deal on removing the charcol filter, will that improve the response? Theres a thread about it in the parts and mods section of the forum, but i didnt see anyone with a 525 who did it....

Many people have. Do it. It can't hurt. But get yourself a K&N Filter to swap for the stock filter. Will cost you $40 on AutoAnything.com.

its been said that only v8s have this filter.. i found it in my 530i. others have found it in their 530s and 525s as well, and some dont even have it to begin with. only one way to see if you have it. the filter is only there for emissions. pretty much it only restricts air flow. to impove air flow, take out that filter and put in a k&n also. some have had results of having a better sounding engine and can feel an improvement. if you feel an improvement, it wont be much but it doesnt do any harm. there may be a tiny increase in throttle response felt also. some didnt feel any difference. just do it.. it doesnt hurt. if anything its better for the car.

Sprint Booster is a little connection thing, that you put in between your throttle and the original throttle wire. It makes your car very very responsive to the the throttle. Thats the non technical part of the explanation, but if you search google, i'm sure you'll find the answer. Also for the charcoal filter, only the US version cars have them, us European cars or European spec cars don't have them. But believe me, sprint booster will make your car very responsive and you'll love it once again. It works very smoothly if you have big wheels, if you're still running on stock, it might make your car a little bit jerky, cuz its too sensitive to throttle.

This guy is selling it for a reasonable price. Check it out. http://www.slkfans.com/

I have never experienced it. Does it feel like a turbo before the boost kicks in? I ask because I may be a bit desensitized with my other cars. But one of the things I like with my e60 is I don't feel that lag.
