Engine Problems. Anybody else?

Hi guys,
I had 2 questions regarding the engine. I have an 06 530i automatic
#1) When I slam on the pedal, it takes the car about 1-2 seconds before it picks up in speed?
#2) Today when I was driving, my gear kinda locked in place? when i pressed harder on the gas, it was still the same speed/gear and when i let go of the pedal, the speed/gear still stayed the same. Anybody else have this probleM?

2. reset the gearbox computer.
