What weight Mobil-1 is recommended for our 530's ? The car in question is an '07 530i.
Thanks
Thanks
The weight you would use for Mobil 1 is 0w 40. The 5W 30 is for European formula only not U.S. spec 5W 30. I just learned this in the last year.
If I couldn't get the OEM oil I would go to napa and get their branded fully synthetic formula 5w 30 its a mix of III & IV oils. Others are II that are frozen, cracked and refined and marked "synthetic"
OEM oil is cheaper and better @ 5.98 a liter.

Another option - your area BMW Dealers often have oil and filter promotions that are very price competitive. Or Dealers that are farther away will sometimes run free shipping specials! Google and shop the deals before you actually need to change your oil.

I know oddly enough my local dealer is the cheapest place for me to buy bmw approved oil.
