I had the voluntary emission recall done on my 2006 530i this week. I've seen a couple of posts that indicated a drop in performance, and others that thought performance was better. My experience is that it's certainly not worse than before, and might be slightly better. The software load worked the first time, and the car was actually done fairly quickly. They also fixed a couple of things that seem to plague the E60. I've had problems with the anti-trap warning, particularly on the driver's window. They replaced the motor, and that seems to have fixed it. They also replaced all of the door seals, and no more squeeks! They seemd to be well aware of this problem.
