So here we are beginning of March. Like all the rest of you who can't wait to take your winters off and put your summers back on, I too am trying to figure out when to do this. It's not like we haven't had snow in March in the past but I really want to put the 20's back on. Any thoughts?

I think the change-over date is triggered more by average daily temperatures than the potential for snow. The sticky rubber compound on summer tires is useless at temps below 45 degrees F - it's like riding on Fred Flinstones.
I'm looking to change over sometime between April 1-15. I'm certain to buy Michelin PS2. But I can't decide which wheels to get.

Never changed in the first place.
I like to go drifting when it snows.

The snow and the cold weather are still over Denmark, and the car is so dirty!
March use to be spring in Denmark, but sometimes the winter last longer..
But in 2-3 weeks, it's summertires time!

First or second week of April. Wanted to do it earlier (end of March), but I will not be here.

My Ride: '04 545iS 6 spd, bought new via eBay, 11/05; Blk/Gry, Cold, L7, PDC, BMW Rear seatcover for pets.
First "Bumwa" was a new 1971 2002. High performance 5s since 1987. Beamer motorcycles too, currently on an 07 BMW K1200 GT; also a Moto Guzzi 1000 SP III.
Here in upstate NY, I never seroiusly consider changing mine until April--usually around mid month. Anecdotally, I remember a couple of years ago, seeing another 540iS stuck in fresh snow with summer tires, while at my tax accountant's office picking up my taxes. Getting an April dump (aka Poor farmer's fertilizer) of a foot of snow is not unusual around here; thankfully it doesn't linger.
Also, I live right on the Hudson and have to climb hills to get out of my place, so I usually err on the side of caution. Coincidentally, I am not looking forward to the TumpFlat ride.
Cheers,
Ray Hull
