E61 LCI randomly cutting out
Hello all and apologies if this is in the wrong place. I have an E61 LCI 2007 2.0d that randomly cuts out, I've just had the egr and dpf replaced as they were throwing codes. No codes now but car is still cutting out with no dashboard lights or the slightest warning its gonna happen, i.e, car runs smooth, could be 15, 30 or 70 mph and then nothing, no juddering, no loss of revs, no nothing but dip clutch, wait for revs to hit zero and it starts straight back up no problem without even stopping! is this likely to be a crankshaft sensor ( with no codes ) ( i scan it with INPA ) or could it be a random fault with the DDE relay as it cuts out so suddenly it feels electrical but indicates nothing on the dash or OBD. this can happen once a day on a 30 mile commute or once a week, its totally random! Thanks in advance and apologies again if this thread is in the wrong place.

Have you checked your crank sensor? 2 years ago mine was covered in oil and the car would buck or just cut out while driving. Other than that without a code I can't be of any help. Id have to be there to troubleshoot a diesel with no CEL. I've never seen an issue with a BMW that didn't at least give you an informational code when some so serious

yeah, thats where I was going next ( crank sensor ) it seems to like having faults with 3 lettered things, so far I've replaced the EGR, DPF, DMF ( DMF was ouch ) so I hope the CCS ( crankcase sensor ) will be the LASt !
