My Ride: 2007 550, premium, sport, nav, bluetooth, satellite, cold, M5/Mtech front bumper and side skirts, matte black kidney grilles, M5 fender grilles, M5 mirrors, euro stickers, 35% tint, 20" Miro 111s (summer), 18" VMR VB3s w/ 10 mm H&R spacers (winter)

I ordered my winter setup last week.... a week late, as it turns out. We got a couple of inches, on Saturday, and the OEM setup didn't do very well. I'm hoping my Blizzaks and MRR GT1's get here this week. I'm anxious to see how they perform in the white stuff.

In the summer, I have staggered 19" Milanos w/ Bridgestone Potenza RE750's (death trap in the winter). However, I've always liked the black mesh wheels, on the black e60. So, this kills two birds with one stone.... I get some better peforming winter tires AND get to upgrade my winter wheels! I was always torn on what wheels to go with.... now I get the best of both worlds. Further, I won't dread having to take off the Milanos for the OEM wheels each year.

i got my 545i in april and this is going to be the first winter i havea rear wheel drive car.. i was wondering how does the car handle in snow?? should i be worried?? my friend has a 05 g35 coupe and that handles like shit in the snow. he cant go over 30 mphs in the snow.. is it going to be the same for me? any feedback will help.

P.S i do have the sport package if that make a difference.
I guess you've heard what you need 2 do......but if they use salt in nj like up here in western ny...just park it and buy a winter beater. The salt will destroy it.......slowly but surely...unless of course you don't plan on keepin it.

How do those tires treat you during the hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and everyday thunderstorms?

Here is where I plowed my street to get in. Snow was flowing over the front bumper.

It'll be fine. Your car has DTC.. or DSC.. ( I forgot what they label it) but it controls the power of the rear wheels. Let's say if you start slipping, the car stops the high revving and makes the car speed slower.

The main key you need is winter tires.
Couldn't agree more We had a winter storm here in Dallas, TX last March '07
(yes, we got snow here once or twice a year ). It took me 2 hours (usually 30-
45 mins.) to get home on 20" Falken 452 tires.

When I drove home ... March 2007

And where I got stuck, less than 5 minutes from home,
