I was curious about "Car Telephone Preparation" in my specification list. And am even more curious as to whether if there is a microphone next to the interior/reading light on the ceiling?
Guess what? I just used a testpen and pry open the panel that is supposed to hold the mike, and it is just an empty piece of plastic! Wiring for mike? NONE
I was under the impression that everything is wired and awaiting IDA's approval on the bluetooth module. And preparation means can be easily retrofitted?
Gee, got to ask PML what prep does the car come with? Could the usual answer of "awaiting IDA's approval" be a "tai-chi" stance? If ALL owners are to press PML for an answer, would they publish any documentary proof of their awaiting approval?

Ooohh I really hope the mobile phone preparation is real! Banking my hopes on this for eventual BT retrofit. The fact there's no mic is bad news though. Before ordering my ride, I was ding-dong with the PML over bluetooth for quite a while.
I believe that the IDA approval line is some kind of "tai-chih" I mean, IDA only takes, what, weeks to approve bluetooth headsets, why should a car BT module take months! Also, why no navigational aid options whatsoever for the E60 when E65 and E46 folks in Singapore have had it for almost 2 years?
Now here's the real kicker, BT, Nav, HUD options are all available on the E60 in Malaysia. Wow and we're suppose to be THE IT savvy. super advanced, most developed country in the region, and IDA takes a f****** half a year to approve a simple bluetooth module.
I've a friend over in Malacca who's getting a 530d and he's checking for me if the BMW service guys there can retrofit a Bluetooth module. If yes, I'm just gonna do mine there. Screw PML and IDA.......

Oh yeah, anyone knows if your SG E60s are BFD-able? (Brake Force Display) I tried asking my SE and she doesn't even know what BFD is.
My feeling is that BFD is not approved by LTA. What a place to live, your pay 1/4 million bucks for a car and every bloody thing is not approved.....

By the way Eggz,
Specification list says "Car Telephone Preparation".... nothing mentioned about bluetooth retrofit or the like.
Could we be misinterpreting?

As for my previous question, I remembered that the same rep said that all cars after March 04 manufacture will have option 640. I not sure about cars before this date.

This morning I went to pml. The chrome grille is already on sale. Has anybody fix the grille already? I heard it is not easy to do it. Can give some tips? It costs $140 per piece before 25% discount. I saw one e60 in PML fixed with the chrome grille and it looks good.
