Yes, it is known that next year ipod interface will be inlcuded. but you need to create BMW playlist 1, BMW playlist 2 etc in your ipod....you cannot actually control all selections from the steering switch alone. Because it cannot recognise other named playlists.
From the idrive knob, you can select your playlist and then your songs. If i am not wrong, the CD changer will not be there for this feature. (so what? who needs a changer if you have 60GB of songs in your ipod??)
If you have not done anything maybe can consider this:
1) install a video interface.
2) use a docking station for ipod ( the one with video out)
3) aux input
this way, you can see on your idrive screen, the display showing on the ipod. And u can control volume with your steering control.
Afterwhich, wait for the after-market adapter that allow interface Ipod to the steering controls including up and down selection. Like the adaptor used in the 3 series now.

Damn unfortunate you cant make it to the meet. Would definitely be interested to tap your brains on iDrive interfaces for entertainment (i.e. iPOD, TV, etc.). Can you please advice where I can get the interfaces done?

Ok.. the list for those who are making it to e60 GTG (cum bmw.sg meet up) at Kallang Mac 4:30pm Nov 27, 2005. Ice breaker for first timers, "totoseow fastest e60"" will be playing cupid at Fort Road CarPark at 4pm. Reverse Flick; Donuts stutnts and two wheel roll is on the program then convoy to Kallang!

The New/facelifted WRX with headlamps looking like the E60's minus the eyebrows
IMO, the E65 is in trouble, going by external looks itself. The new Merc looks really nice in flesh

being an ex - S class owner, i am not impress....especially the thought of sending the car back to C&C for service. If you say PML CSR is bad and sometimes "nuts" wait till you face those furstrated CSR in C&C!
