523 owners, know of anyone who did a chip-job lately to get closer to a 525?

For those thinking of a 523, it's the best buy I think. 525 features for 523 price, but need to tune it up. I expect little difference between 523 and 525 on the resale market.

Hi guys,

I just got my 523i for a week now and quite happy with the car.
The power is ok if you put it in the sport mode but could be better.
Is possible to chip it to 525 specs with regards to the warranty?

A few of our forumers did a remap thru DMS - Rob. Check with Toto for his ctc. Juzz 4 Cars also told me he can do a remap at about SGD 800 or so. You can improve the horsepower, pick=up, etc up to a good extent, but you cannot bring it up to 525 standards.

However, in saying so, please also be reminded that although PML can't detect the mod, there's always a risk involved in doing such things. My opinion is that in order to improve something, something else has gotta give. Don't ask me what or where because I am as blurr as the next guy as far as chipping is concerned.

Mechanically, the physical difference between the 523 and 525 is a the existance of a disa valve and ECU which technically can be installed which can = to a 525. Of course warrenty will be void engine wise.

I have had a response from PML. The Rock is looking into this and we should have an answer before the end of this week. Pls keep your fingers crossed but your hopes in check.
