I hereby would like to organise a trip up north. To Malacca on 25th March which is on a good Friday. We could set off about 7am, reach there to have lunch under some coconut tree and cruise back. Any takers?

Sounds good, but wouldn't the traffic be a little bad at that sort of time? How about an hour earlier?

Actually there is a right and there is wrong tire pressure. And the right tire pressure is not allways the one in the manual or on the B-pillar.

BMW530, glad to learn that you are back on the forum upon returning to UK.? You may want to post pixs of your ride and if one fits the angle of those shots that I have taken, I may just super-impose yours in for the fun of it.

The one on the B-Pillar says for an average of 4 passengers, the front pressure is 2,2 and the rear 2,6. I have tried that and I find 2,2 for the front rather sluggish and 2,6 for the rear too bouncy. I am now using 2,3 for the front tyres and 2,5 for the rear.

What would you recommend ?

We could all gather at 6.15am and set off about 6.30am? Any suggestions for the meetup point?

Hi New Owner.? Why not register yourself in this forum.? I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here.

Taken your advice and registered myself today.

I have only owned the 3 series models since 1996, the last car being a 320i, and recently changed to the 520i in early February 2005. Been driving the car for more than 2 weeks and I find the engine very smotth and silent. However, I find the car quite different from the 3 series and miss the 3 already.

Firstly, driving at low speeds eg. in a multistorey carpark to be quite a drag. The engine gets quite loud and jerky. I get the impression that the auto-gear is not changing quite fast enough at low speeds. The steering for the 520i seems quite jittery especially when I am attempting reverse parking. Is this an inherent problem or is it the software ? I read on the earlier pages of your forum that the fault could lie with the run-flat tyres. Anything to look out for if I want to change tyres ?

In my opinion, you have found the right (for you that is) combination; and they are not in the B-pillar or manual.

I think Russo meant it's personal. So long as one doesn't over-inflate or over-deflate till the control is out, and one feels right/comfortable then that's the right pressure.

In fact different tyres behave differently even with the same pressure.

No, I don't experience whay you describe.
You also do not have run flat. So that can be the cause either.

Just thot of something. I used to find the car slow to respond to my gas input. I figured out was the way the pedal was designed, and I had to adapt myself a little. But I am not sure if 320 had the same pedal design.

And welcome.
