I have a 2008 535I w/ 30k miles. I hopped in this am to come to work and could not get the tranny in Reverse. I live on a slight incline so i rolled out of the driveway, put her in D and all was fine.
I have since tried Reverse a few times and it was ok (so far, knock on wood, etc).

Anyone experienced this?

How steep is your incline? Do you use the E-brake or do you leave the car in park?

My problem was getting into D. Eventually the whole transmission block was changed. There seems to be a recurring problem. I would recommend getting it to your dealer.
