New found: HUD Mview possible on E60 post 09/05.

My car is 07/05 and I'm trying to understand WHY it wouldn't be possible.

Who said it was possible on any non M car? I would love for this to work...

Member xDrive from bmwecu.org .

It is possible, but not easy to enable it. Better if you find someone skilled with INPA, NCS Expert, etc.

I will have to try on mine, when I will have HUD retrofitted. In some months we'll see

Hi

Have anybody worked out witch modul that must be post 09/2005 , for sure not the CCC ( I got a 06/2007 CCC , and it don't work for more than 30 sec. either with that ) , is it the HUD or the Kombi ( cluster ) that must be post 09/2005 , or perhaps a hole other modul. ( CAS , MPM etc. )

What do you think Alex ? any input ?

Hi

Have now tryed to make the coding with a KOMBI ( cluster ) from 10/2005 , ?nd it still dosen't work for more than 30 sec. , so I think it's not depending on wich year the KOMBI is from ! , I think it's perhaps the prod. year/month of the HUD it self that is important.

For sure you will have to alter the :

MDRIVE
nicht_aktiv

to :

MDRIVE
aktiv

and the :

HUD
aktiv

to :

HUD
nicht_aktiv

then alter :

M_SPORT_HUD

from :

M_SPORT_HUD
nicht_aktiv

to :

M_SPORT_HUD
aktiv

So here I stand now , when/if I get hold of a HUD from after 09/2005 , I will try again , and let you know , but until then perhaps somebody with a post 09/2005 E60/61 and HUD , could try it out and let us know.

Thanks in advance

I have an LCI 2008 E60 with HUD. Is this something I can do without a special computer? If so, I'm happy to try it. It would be sweet...

Hi bloomjbmw

Kind of you to offer , but you will need to have a computer/LapTop + according interface together with the Ediabas NSC-Expert progam/softwear , and also you must know you way around how to use it , in order to be able to do this reading/coding of the different Moduls in the car.

Thanks

Well then, I suppose I am no help! Oh well. I would love to have M view. So if you guys ever do figure it out, please find a way to pass it along!
