So I guess the outer "bulb" in the headlight serves as both the low and high beam?

Correct, same as the pre-LCI cars. On the pre-LCI cars the inner lights functioned as the daytime runnings lights and were the flashers (pulling on the light stalk on the steering column).

What about the pre-LCI cars? they still had the inner bulb as well, but I noticed it was used alot for Daytime running lights.

I thought that was what I said, on pre-LCI cars the inner light was the DRL...

actually, that inner light also serves as your cornering light, with your adaptive xenon function on "light switch to the left", when you turn left, the inner bulb on the left headlight unit will turn on and vice versa for the other side...

QUOTE (Kzang @ Jun 11 2009, 01:24 PM)

Well my excuse is, I don't have the car or the manual yet! If I did have the manual, I would just read that instead
Kzang

My car didn't come with a 2010 manual either - only a 2009.

I now have received mine 2010 - I called BMW NA which contacted my dealer - after the latter struck out.

The delta between the new 2010 manual and the 2009, as another poster mentioned, is mostly relative to the iDrive.

Best of luck
