Default E60 Error Codes

Hi everyone, this is my first post. I just recently purchased a 2007 525 xi with about 65,000 miles on it and have recently been getting several error codes that pop up every few days. I wanted to try and get some info on them prior to bringing them into the dealer and spending a mint in the process. When I connect my code reader to the car i have been getting the following codes on it.

P0700
P1407
P1408

The ones above are the most common that seem to pop up and I am able to reset them sometimes, not always.

Yesterday I also pulled the following codes, which was the first time for them
U116D
U116E

Generally if I shut off the car for a few minutes everything goes away. I have had the Check Engine light come on and remain on for one day but that also disappeared and has not come back since. I have had a transmission problem indicator come on once which did not allow me to go over 45 ( i pulled off the highway and shut the car off for a few and have not had it since). Sometimes when the error messages come on strange things happen in the car (radio volume goes up then down, wipers go real fast, gauges all drop to 0 and then go back to their regular position. I have also had the drivers side parking lamp malfunction come on here and there, when it does come on the light is not working but when it's not on it works. Over the past few months I have probably had about 7 or 8 different errors come on, none of them left me stranded but they are of major concern to me.

Any insight on this would be great before I go to the BMW dealer. I have read through several posts and seen some similar items but usually not all of them combined.

Could this be battery related? Bad control modules? Truly appreciate any insight anyone can offer. Thanks.

Electronic gremlins like this are battery related most of of the time, I'd start from testing the battery. Watch your car voltage while you're driving. Google E60 hidden cluster menue.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Replaced the battery with the same one from BMW. Turns out it was the original battery in the car and it was ready to be replaced. Only cost me $269 which included the programming. I use a local shop that specializes in Mercedes but they have a BMW mechanic. If anyone is in need of a shop around the Chicagoland area let em know. I highly recommend them.

Oh yeah the local BMW dealer (the one the shop got the battery from) wanted just under $600 ($295 for the battery and another $275 for the programming)

Well I guess i spoke too soon. The car has been driving fine for the past few days and then today when i ran out to lunch I had a bunch of errors pop up again.

AWD and DSC malfunction!
DBC Malfunction! Drive carefully
Start-off assistance inactive!

I'll be bringing it back to the shop to see what they have to say about it. Any suggestions? Thanks
