I don't think you could go wrong with either car. The 550i probably is faster than the vert M3. Black is a horrible color to take care of. "Fun to drive" depends on the driver. At this point in time, I am interested in ease, comfort, size, and luxury. So, now, the 550i would be much more fun to me and would hold its appeal much longer. My Z06 is very much fun to drive, but I tend to get into my 545i much more often. Things might be different if the Z06 was a C6. A contributing factor is that my wife strongly prefers going places in the 545i. The Z06 "breaks her" neck too often

, and, of course, is the much louder of the two cars since I removed my B&B. You could always do a Dinan package on the M3 and have a car that should keep up with the new one. But, I'd rather have a new M3 if I was up for an M3. When we re-up, I am thinking new M3 and new 550i (or whatever is out then). I am hoping that we will give up on SUV's/SAV's. But, two more years to go, and who knows what we'll end up with.
