My Ride: Orient blue '05 545i, Sport/Premium Pkg, 6Speed MT, Xenon, Navi, Blue2th, PDC,
It is also a perfect time to check if your coolant vent pipes and valley pan are not leaking.
How many miles you have on your car? I got my car with 86k and now I have 130k. During that time I removed my intake at least 5 times.
It is not that hard. You will get used to it. ;-)
Good luck.

Let me think:
at 89k - Y-pipe and left exhaust valve
at 94k - Valley pan, water pump and coolant vent pipes
at 102 - I was looking for strange coolant leak and at that time I replaced second exhaust valve. At the end coolant was leaking from rear engine cover behind the transmission. It was easier to remove everything while intake was out.
at 117k - coolant return pipe (AGA expandable pipe)
at 125k - DISA motor and intake pressure sensor
