Silly question, but I am wondering if there is anything I need to know before dynoing a 2004 545i with Steptronic? I know I have to disable the DTC, but is there anything else I should know. I am planning on dynoing the car stock and then after the ECU Re-Flash. The dyno facility informed me that it would be tough to dyno a steptronic because as soon as the gear changes, the dyno will stop? Does this make any sense. He asked me if we could start from 4th gear? Is there a way to sustain a gear without the computer making a gear change?

I would think that shifting the lever into manual mode should keep in 4th gear long enough for a dyno run. Just keep an eye on your rpms since if they get to high or low it may change gears regardless.
