I'm just saying if it's a new feature that automaker installed in the car due to recent development, that means there's a purpose for it. In certain case, this feature could be life saving. So I would get it fix and have it on if it becomes deactivated.

Bottom line sure you have to be careful with it off. You have to use common sense when its wet out ! But dry conditions thats a whole different story.

Not here to argue, but to share my past experience. Since it's safety feature, why risk it

Its not like your flying a b-2 bomber that needs computers to keep it flying. Its a well balanced automobile. Otherwise BMW would of never gave you the option to DEACTIVATE it.

Of course life went on before stability control which is now mandated in cars by 2013 any new car must have it so again equalizing the field with the rest of the world and bmw.

That said you can find a few good videos on youtube that test the dsc safety feature and really show it can maneuvre well beyond what a human could in accident situation--with ability to brake only certain wheels-at different rates and control steering input to match-in a slippery accident situation you are just not on the same playing field as you are with dsc-not the same as a controlled track where predictable moves are known and a well balanced car is another story. Accident situations balance has very little to do with what happens

Very true indeed!

If youve been driving long enough, read(enthusiast)through the 80-90's you should have plenty of skill driving without the help of safety features like this. If your younger and only have experience driving for the last 12 years or so and your cars have always had safty features like DSC and anti lock brakes and some of the older safety features then when one the features shuts down on you its like pulling a rug from under the drivers tires.......its unfortunate but true. Its like having training wheels forever. I always felt the more control you take away from the driver the less skill required to drive the more of a hazard that person is on the road to others when something goes wrong.

Get it fixed.
