DSC vs DTC... some more info I came across...

http://www.bmwauto.net/forums/bmw/p/114781/dsc_vs_dtc
But that description is wrong.....

A short press does NOT disable DSC and leave traction control on as he descibed. That is counter to pressing the DTC button to allow wheel spin anyways.
It IS just the opposite, a short press disables traction control but leaves DSC on. I believe it is dynamic. Too much activation and it will come back on.

Actually when you press DTC-button the DTC-mode comes on. Which means the DSC is restricted.

Happy New Year!

Soooo...in normal driving then both features are on (DSC AND DTC)...then with one push of the DSC button, DSC is turned off and you have only DTC on...with the second push and hold for 5 seconds BOTH systems are off - until you either re-engage by pushing the button again or cycle the ignition.

Seems pretty straightforward...

With 10 threads on the subject, shouldn't we start a 11th one, just to summarize the earlier ones...?

Anyone?

...Rudy?

Lol - that just confused me even more

Ok, the simple version...

Don't push anything = clean underpants
Push DTC/DSC button once for partial disable = slight possibility of small underpant soiling
Push and hold DTC/DSC button to disable everything = new underpants (possibly coffin) required
That's a good breakdown, I understand that fully.

The thing I think people misunderstands is that you activate DTC. Which means that DSC is restricted. Not that hard.
