Door Pillar - Matte Black Care?
My matte black door pillars are starting to show their age a little. I don't want to put any kind of overlays on them but would like to get them looking new again. Any suggestions on what product to recondition them and keep them looking new?
Give it a good rubbing with a clean terry towel to get it really clean ... you could try to clay it too. Then apply a specialized auto trim dressing like this one : http://www.autogeek.net/motbactrimca.html
I think they come in both gloss and matte finishes.
The plastic or painted trims will, over time, collect wax and dirt over time and begin to look streaked and off color. Best to clean the trim thoroughly (something like simple green or other gentle detergent) and remove any wax or grime.

I will check out that mothers product. If anybody else has recommendation please let me know.
I've been meaning to ask my tint guy if he can vinyl wrap trim like that, or use blackout tape like they use on door frames. I just haven't been able to catch up with him lately. I'll let you know what I find out, could be a cheap alternative to shadowline trim, too.
