That's a great option package ... nice '10 535XI. The only thing I'd suggest is shadowline for the door /window trim area or the DIY treatments recommended on recent posts. That would be a nice compliment to your color combo! Good luck with your new ride

Thanks. I really liked the option package too.

I just learned about the shadowline trim in another post. The car has ever so slight discoloration on the aluminum trim around the windows. Apparently this is a common issue. Another post online compared the look to gasoline in a puddle of water. That is what it looks like.

I tried a few products including some mild polish (applyed by hand) and got a definite improvement. I'm going to see how good I can get it. I do think the black would look better on this color and I may consider the shadowline trim or possibly wrapping the existing trim myself with some high quality vinyl (may even do this first to see if I like it).

The coatings on the bright work of many newer cars seems to stain very easily. However, most recover with polishes similar to what you'd use on clear coat painted surfaces. I'd stay clear of "metal polishes" - they might be too abrasive, improve the look only temporarily, but actually expose the surface to more rapid future staining. Search out the posts about using duplicoat to give you the "sport pkg / shadowline look" with an easy to apply spray finish. And one of the benefits is easy removal and touch up!
