You said you were turning left. Is the sterring wheel on the left or right in your Country? If on the right then the drivers door swung completely open? Wow...hardcore!!

When driving through Zurich a couple of days ago the drivers door went open!
I was taking a left hand 90 deg bend, at a roadwork area, at appr. 40 km/h.
All of a sudden my door opened like halfways. It did not swing fully open.
Central locking was locked and the locking pin was down. Very scary! I first thought taht is was the kids in the back that had managed to open one of their doors! :'(
Anyone experienced this?

Doors were locked by the drive off function in I-drive.
Dealer have not been able to repeat the problem.
Never happened again.
Maybe a Zurich problem.....

If the car remained a long time outside under low temperatures, it's possible that the door didn't lock 100% when you closed it ...

bringing this back to life, my door popped open on its own as well. Driving down a regular road, 35mph, and DING warning that a door is open. I was able to pull over immediately and it was the drivers door, I was afraid it would swing open and a car rip it off! Really crazy that this could ever happen.
