Does anyone else find it stupid that the door open warning symbol (in the info display) and accompanying chime only occurs when the car is moving?
It's too late at that stage when you've lost all your rear passangers.

As in a previous E46, why doesn't the warning just appear when any door is open and the ignition is on. It would be nice to know before moving off.

If this is a persistent problem can I suggest trading in for a 6 series!

On my car it comes on as soon as I go a few feet. To me thats adequate. If I lost someone in those few feet then they can just stay home

I'm with you, IrishEyes...I am really surprised that the door warning symbol does not display and the chimes go off as soon as the car is in Drive or Reverse...what possible reason is there not to send the alarm before the car moves an inch? There is a lot great work in this car, this is puzzling though.

I think is a bug they will fix or should I say a feature they will add along with the facelift so you have an incentive to trade in your car. Conspiracy on BMW's part.
