Does your 5 get alot of attention?

Not really. Where I live I see so many luxury cars BMW/Lexus/Acura/Mercedes/Audi. I see more 3 series E90 then I see civics. Seems like everyone and their grandma has gotten a base 3 series 325/328. Never seen so many. Was at a intersection saw 9-10 go by. All are base 3 series though. The X3/X5 are abundant.
The E60 is not as common as the E90/X3/X5 but I still spot them often. ALL are stock. Recently the last time I saw a modded E60 was a few weeks back at a hospital parking lot. That was only the second time I saw a 545i. Most of the E60 in this area are 525xi/528xi/535xi.
The only people I notice looking at my car are mostly car enthusiasts or other BMW drivers. Same with my Acura TL I only see other "car folk" looking at it or other Acura drivers. The public can care less what I drive. I do notice more aggressive driving from others when I am in my BMW or Acura. But that may just be in my head.
I think if I were to get an exhaust and some nicer lights for either car I would get more attention.
But seriously the E90 base cars piss me off. Its such a common car. Half of those people don't even know what BMW stands for. They just get it for the name. T

Not really much attention here in Dallas. Then again, my Brother and I joke and say that black E60s are the "standard issue" car for Dallas. Doesn't matter where you go, you will generally see at least one other black E60. But, sometimes they're metallic black instead of my car's plain flat black - wooo, variety!
FWIW - I still think the E60 is one of the most beautiful cars on the road! So many cars try to copy, but still lack the overall finesse that our cars have!

+1...When I had my F250, I would get way more attention than my e60. It was a beautiful truck and had all the bells and whistles. If It didn't cost me $320 a month in deisel, I would have still owned it. I miss that truck! Can't wait to get another in a couple of years, if I can afford it.

I was just at a party this evening.... I was wearing some bmw poser gear and a couple of guys cornered me and wanted to see my car. One dude was totally freaking out about my ride... I was a little surprised about the exuberance considering it's not an M. One part that I did enjoy is that the guy with the new mustang didn't get any attention and looked annoyed.... I guess I shouldn't have parked next to him?
