You stop and take the key out of the ignition. Your phone rings; you put the key down to answer the phone, get out and start talking. Two minutes later the car locks itself with your key inside. Is that really what you want?

This is not what the OP was hoping the car would do. He was hoping that if he forgot to lock the car after pulling up, that the car would then auto lock itself. Which as Iceman says quite correctly, is not possible.
