The saga ends...
I just received the genuine BMW hose and it exhibited the same figment issue.
Let's recap, shall we. The heating element wires were not reaching the intake manifold using Dorman Solutions part. I measured the wires length at 8.25 inch. I then measured the old BMW part and the wires length was 10.5 inches. My logic then told me the wire is obviously too short to reach. It was close but 0.5 inch short.
I then ordered a genuine hose. I immediately measured the length at 10 inch. Yay it should fit... so I thought.
I go to install the part and the wire is still not reaching. How can that be its 2 inches longer? Hmm.
There is a trick to it. I started by connecting the heater wire first since its the easiest part. That's where I made my mistake. You have to connect the elbow part of the hose to the CCV first. What happens is you then gain the 0.5 inch you need to plug in the heater wire.
My car is running fine now and no more stalls at idle.
