No. It's a MattO thing. Mine is badged.

PS: did you know that "matto" in Italian means "madman"?

I've always thought that a de-badged car looks cleaner. Yet then again, when I see a de-badged 3 or 5-series on the street, I assume it's the lowest model.

And if you saw my debadged M5 (or Carerra 4 Turbo for that matter) and assumed it was the lowest model, I would not care.

I bought a 535d Sport at the weekend and have de-badged it. Didn't see the need to have the badge on the boot....Is it a 535d thing?
Nope.

It's an image thing.

Now..... which image?

I'm sure you wouldn't. I really don't care what other people think myself, as the real enthusiast will know what type of car you're driving.

Exactly, the image means here not more than just the look. I am sure only a minority wants to hide his/her engine. But why don't we make a poll for a survey.

I have never thought this topic can be so extensively discussed but I do not mind, as now we could at least discuss in a normal manner.

Rimz, brands and de-badging are sometimes "minefields" here and goes into too much personal thing, here not I am happy guys

btw I ordered my 530D debdged only for the CLEANER look, now as I have a HAMANN DEMO CAR I have HM on, but I do not mind others if they put other badges not even ///M, it is there property they do what ever they want, don't they.

What's all the fuss? Personal choice. Do you debadge? Does it matter?

Your car is yours, does it matter what other people think? The same thing applies to the clothes people wear or what watch they own. Me? I don't even have a watch Sure, a Rolex would be nice, but I don't really care enough to buy one.

For me the car it isn't an example of my status, or a device to make my penis look bigger - it's a tool, a very good tool at that, and I enjoy it. It's filthy. I like it filthy. If yours is waxed and shiny, hey good for you. Too many people obsess about image and what other people think.

Here she is, polished up and ready to cruise

Me neither and since I'm either INSIDE my e60 or it's tucked away in the garage, I can't be even bothered to get the hair drier and fishing line out. I'm surprised anyone can be bothered.

Obviously it's a labour of love for some. Or is it image?
