Does the CD player play MP3 discs?

My Ride: 2008 550i. Jet Black.
I just ordered a 530i with Premium Sound. Does anyone know if the sound system will recognize and play CDs containing MP3s?

No, it doesn't today, however they are supposedly working on a software fix for this. Who knows when though?!?!?!? They are also supposed to bring back RDS which went MIA in a recent SW release.

According to the brochure when i got mine (early 2004) the pro radio has MP3 playback, but i dont think the softwares there yet. Have had a couple of updates, but no avail 
I suppose all we can do is badger BMW....
